Original: Seydis-House (7x9in)

$375.00

This piece is a special memory of my first plein air painting in over three and a half years, set in the breathtaking village of Seyðisfjörður, Iceland. After a short water taxi ride from the ship to the port, I was immediately enchanted by the serene, charming homes and the stunning natural backdrop. We wandered through the village, and every corner felt like a painting waiting to happen.

I finally chose to paint a quaint red house set against a waterfall cascading down the mountainside, capturing the essence of Seyðisfjörður’s peaceful yet dramatic landscape. I set up along a quiet gravel road and painted alla prima for about two and a half hours, letting the vivid red of the house and the towering fjords speak for themselves.

This painting is not just a scene; it’s a reflection of the quiet beauty and the awe I felt returning to plein air painting in such an inspiring place.

Please note: This painting can be varnished or left unvarnished, according the preferences of the buyer. Varnishing will delay shipping time in order to allow the piece to fully dry.
