This museum quality, fine art print will be offered in two sizes (due to the original size of the painting - 7×9in). If you’d like a larger size, please contact me.
I chose to capture the majestic Giant’s Causeway in Northern Ireland, enchanted by the striking scale of its basalt columns and the people strolling amidst them along the cliffside. This piece was painted while I was en route to Iceland, aboard a ship in the Arctic Circle, making the experience both relaxing and challenging.
One of the most memorable aspects of the Causeway is a humorous local legend shared by our guide. She recounted how a Christian priest, convinced the Causeway was a natural, divine wonder, was met with skepticism by the locals who thought he had hand-carved the stones! This charming anecdote adds a layer of humor and intrigue to the landscape. The painting was completed in an alla prima style in about two and a half hours, capturing the essence of this unique and fascinating location.
