Painted en plain air in February 2026. “Cheryl’s Spring” captures an idyllic pond and stream under the shade of a historic maple tree at Rock Ledge Ranch Historic Site. It’s a place walked by generations of locals and visitors alike. It was painted beside still waters, in honor of Cheryl Scott, Katie Sermons’ late grandmother.

Part of the Preserving the Springs series, this piece was created to archive the landscapes and landmarks that shape the spirit of Colorado Springs before time inevitably changes them.
